General Care and Maintenance
Grooming
Although Great Danes are large dogs, they have very short hair. This means that they require very little grooming and bathing, unless they have played in dirt, water, etc from outside.
Feeding
Since they are a large dog, they do tend to consume more to meet their metabolic standards. Different feed formulations may prove to be advantageous to specific dogs. For example, some dogs have benefited from eating a raw food diet with regards to treating hip dysplasia.
Exercise
It is a common misconception that since the Great Dane is so large, it requires a substantial amount of exercise. Great Danes in actuality only require a moderate amount of exercise compared to their size. They do not generally stay outside for long periods of time, and only require a relatively long walk or short play time.
Although they may not need a lot of exercise, Great Danes are very social dogs and require your company as well as interaction with other dogs!
